इस चुनौती में व्यक्तिगत रूप से छात्र सीधे आवेदन नहीं कर सकते हैं। छात्रों के स्कूल, आईटीआई, पॉलीटेक्निक या कॉलेज को पहले पोर्टल पर पंजीकरण करना होगा और एक नोडल समन्वयक नामित करना होगा।

यह प्रतियोगिता आंध्र प्रदेश, कर्नाटक, केरल, तमिलनाडु और तेलंगाना राज्यों के साथ-साथ पुडुचेरी, लक्षद्वीप और अंडमान एवं निकोबार द्वीप समूह के शैक्षणिक संस्थानों के लिए खुली है।

नवाचार प्रस्तुत करने के लिए पाँच मुख्य विषय (Themes) निर्धारित किए गए हैं:
- स्वच्छ एवं सतत भारत (Clean and Sustainable Bharat): पर्यावरण संरक्षण, अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन और हरित ऊर्जा।

The Ministry of Education has extended the registration deadline for the Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026 to November 6, 2026. Eligibility Criteria and Participation Levels
Students cannot register independently on the portal. Participating institutions must nominate an official coordinator to register the institution and submit student entries.
1. Three Participation Levels:
- Junior Level: School students studying in Classes 6 to 12.
- Technical Level: Trainees enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Polytechnic diploma institutions.
- Open Level: Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) students, and Research Scholars.
2. Covered States and Union Territories:
The challenge is open to eligible institutions located in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the Union Territories of Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Participants can develop solutions under five major themes:
- Clean and Sustainable Bharat: Environmental protection, waste management, and green technology.
- Prosperous Farmers and Prosperous Bharat: Agricultural machinery, smart farming, and rural growth.
- Healthy and Inclusive Bharat: Healthcare innovations, accessibility, and social inclusion.
- Educated and Skilled Bharat: Educational technology, skill training, and digital learning.
- Secure Bharat: Cybersecurity, safety devices, and public infrastructure protection.
Two Innovation Tracks:
